Rough Trade
Rough Trade is a retail chain of record shops in the United Kingdom and the United States with headquarters in London. The first Rough Trade shop was opened in 1976 by Geoff Travis in West London and reportedly took the name from the Canadian art punk/new wave band of the same name. In 1978, the shop spawned Rough Trade Records, which later became the legendary label for bands including The Smiths and The Libertines. Rough Trade now has six shops worldwide with five in the UK and one in New York City, USA.
Progress were honoured to collaborate with Rough Trade on their ‘Weekender’ personalised tote bags – the must-have accessory for any discerning record buyer. This custom record bag was made from thick 16oz black organic cotton canvas and incorporates a generous all-round gusset to fit a stack of records safely inside, along with a handy internal zip pocket to keep all-important valuables secure. In addition to being a long handle tote bag format, short handles were also incorporated to give a useful alternative carrying option. The tote bag printing includes the Rough Trade logo screen printed in white, with their growing list of shops loudly and proudly listed on the reverse. A custom embroidered label featuring the Rough Trade logo positioned on the top seam stylishly finishes off this iconic personalised shopper bag.
