Valentin Stalf and Maximilian Tayenthal founded N26 with a desire to bring the retail branding experience to today’s mobile, fast-paced lifestyle. This full current account allows you to take control of all your finances in a single app. In July 2018, they launched Metal – Europe’s first contactless metal card. For the launch of this, N26’s design team was aware of how important the packaging would be when delivering the card to its new owner. They wanted an experience that would create a rare physical connection for their otherwise digital product.

Working with them from concept stage, we developed a stylish cardholder, which consisted of a double slipcase and an internal card holding fitment plus flyleaf. This was all held together with a custom mailer that had a peel and seal strip, as well as a tear strip – all made using contrasting soft touch paper and laminated print. The branding included raised foil, foil blocking and embossing.
