Remember a few weeks ago when we wondered what Vicki had been doing during the last 5 years while not working for Progress? Well, it turns out she wasn’t actually stranded on a beach with Leonardo DiCaprio; she’s been busier than anybody really knew. Vic – Also now known as Victoria L. James – is a published writer and has four books out to date.
Her latest book, Natexus, was released a few weeks ago, but this weekend she had her very first author signing at the Leeds Author Event at The Marriott Hotel, alongside 60 other well known authors from all around the world. Just under 200 people flocked to the venue that day, which is probably why we can see a sneaky bottle of Corona in one of the pics. Sounds like she was busy and from what we’ve heard in the office, also incredibly overwhelmed.
Well done, Holmesy!
Twelve months. 365 days. That’s a lot of hours and even more minutes (please don’t ask us to do the math… it’s Monday and we are still recovering from our Christmas party at the weekend.) It has been another great year for all of us at Progress Packaging. We never know who we are going to forge relationships with or what products we are going to have the privilege of producing, but 2015 has definitely been one to remember.
We have, once again, been lucky enough to work for and with some amazing companies, including Ralph & Russo, Hard Graft, Miller Harris, Wolfburn Whisky, Tom Dixon, Pro-Blo, All Star Lanes, Clogau, Art Basel, etc, and produced some quality pieces, some of which are shown above.
Progress Packaging won a Creative Impact award from The Examiner Business Awards, which was a nice recognition for us, not only because of all of our hard work, but it was also a chance to be included in helping celebrate businesses local to us in the north. 2015 saw a huge office refurb here at the mill. Out with the old views and in with a new workspace that is bright, modern and more user friendly for everyone. Then there was the surprising return of a member of staff no one thought they’d see again after five years of living away. Some say she spent time on an island with Leonardo DiCaprio. Others say she’s been living the secret life of Batgirl. Who knows?
But our year is almost finished with our offices closing on Wednesday 23rd December. As much as we’re looking forward to spending Christmas with our families, we’re also excited about diving into 2016 which will see a totally new rebrand here at Progress. Lots to look forward to!
To all those who we have worked with over the last twelve months, thank you for continuing to choose Progress and for a brilliant 2015. We wish all of you a very merry Christmas and an even better new year. We’ll see you on the 4th January.
Simon, Fran, Liam, Gill, Adele, Vicki and Darcy the dog.
“The Examiner Business Awards is the biggest, the best and longest standing business awards in the region with a history of recognising and rewarding successful businesses across all sectors,” – and we have been selected as 2015 finalists for The Media Centre Creative Impact Award.
How amazing is that? 2015 has been a good year for us and Simon Farrow, along with a few members of the team, will be digging out their black ties and fancy frocks (although we’re hoping Liam keeps his dress in the wardrobe for this one) and heading to the awards ceremony on Thursday November 12th. What an honour. Go, Team Progress!

Simon recently popped into the London Rapha store to check out the custom packaging we produced for their Grand Tour shoe. Whereas, we know he was merely feeding his cycling clothing addiction.
Just how many Rapha T Shirts can 1 individual wear whilst out for a Sunday ride????
Progress are pleased to announce the launch of our new ‘Creative’ and ‘Prestige’ catalogues on the 4th / 5th of October at the Packaging Innovations event held at the Business Design Centre, London.

We recently exhibited at the Easyfairs Packaging Innovation show which was at the Business Design Centre, Islington. It was a very busy couple of days on the feet but we made some very good contacts. Please see images of our stand above.
